Employee Experience
What is Employee Experience (EX)?
Employee Experience (EX) summarizes all phases employees go through during their time in a company. Successful EX-Management allows deep insights into the relationship between the individual employee and the company, starting with the application process (Pre-Hiring) up to the day the employee leaves the company (Exit). It is important to obtain feedback at all milestones: from onboarding to training and development to the employee’s exit. The implementation of a continuous feedback process is therefore indispensable for successful EX management.
Although all companies are unique, they usually share the following common milestones:
- Application Process
- Onboarding
- Training
- Exit
- Alumni
Every step in an employees life cycle is important and can influence both corporate culture and performance. By gathering the opinion of your employees at every important milestone, companies can understand how they can support their employees and find room for improvement.

Data Protection & Anonymity
Many surveys collect personal data and sometimes confidential employee feedback. The trust of employees is essential for the collection of partly sensitive data – an anonymous survey is a central success factor for valid results. Only by ruling out the misuse of data, trust among respondents will be created.
There are two legal texts that define the protection mandate for personal data.
You should pay attention to the following when collecting personal data:
The legal representative due to the German data protection law within an organization is called „Data Protection Officer“. This person should be involved in any data protection related topic from stage one. He/She should be the most important contact person to advise anyone in the company on current legislation.
Make sure to pay attention to the following points during employee surveys:
- encrypted transmission of data
- confidential storage of data
- access protection for survey results
- separation of survey data and mailing lists
